Victor Fernandez

Victor Fernandez, the founder and head trainer of Illinois Premier F.C., was born in Lima, Peru. He currently holds a National "B" coaching license.  He began playing soccer at age four. His passion and love for the game have increased over the years and he now enjoys teaching soccer athletes on a full-time basis. 

Victor's soccer career included playing for the Chicago Kickers and the Chicago Sockers. He attended Hoffman Estates High School and played varsity soccer all four years receiving All-State and All-American honors, while his HEHS team was the Illinois state finalist his junior year.

He played professional soccer for 11 years and has coached at the youth level for more than 10 years. Victor received an associate’s degree from Triton College. His professional career follows:

1988 – 1989 -- Played for the Chicago Sting Developmental team               

1989 – 1990 -- Played for a Peruvian club, Sporting Crystal 1st Division

1991 – 1992 -- Played for the Rockford Thunder of the NPSL                                       

1992 – 1995 -- Played for the Chicago Power of the NPSL                                          

1995 – 1996 -- Played for the Detroit Rockers of the NPSL                                          

1996 – 1998 -- Ended professional career with the Chicago Power                                          

In addition to his coaching activities, Victor continues to compete recreationally in area soccer. In 2002 he was the captain of the 3v3 team that won the National 3v3 championship, Men's competitive division, at Disney World.  He currently resides in Downers Grove with wife April and three sons Collin, Jake and Nicholas.
